Joining the World of Blogging

Well, we have finally decided to join the world of blogging!  Mainly because ever since I got married I have been terrible about keeping a journal, or scrapbook of any kind.  So here is my attempt at recording what is going on in our crazy life!

Lets start with a quick update of the last almost 3 years!  I graduated from BYU in April, and two weeks later on May 1, 2009 Kev and I got married in the Louisville, KY Temple.  It was an amazing day filled with lots of love, family, and our closest friends.  It was everything I could have ever wanted and more and I will always hold a special place in my heart for that day!

After we got married we went on a honeymoon down to Mexico.  A place called Puerto Aventuras.  It is just a little south of Playa Del Carmen.  It was an all inclusive resort, and we loved every second of it!  We went repelling, zip line, swam in a cenote, and even went scuba diving!  And of course did lots of relaxing, and ate at all the fancy restaurants in our resort!  Yes, I know scuba diving was like the last thing I ever wanted to do, but somehow Kev convinced me to get certified before the trip, and before I knew it I was jumping into the middle of the ocean to dive.  I had a mini panic attack when I first jumped in, but quickly calmed down once I had sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and realized it was actually pretty cool, not that scary, and absolutely no sharks around!  Unfortunately we don't have any pictures from the scuba diving trip bc we left our camera in the taxi.  Luckily the taxi driver was kind enough to come to our resort and drop it off to us.

When our honeymoon came to an end we packed up and headed to Atlanta, GA for the summer.  Kev sold pest control like he had every summer for the past few years, and I worked in the office learning everything I would need to know for when we opened the new company the following year.  At the end of the summer we packed up again and headed back to Provo, UT for Kev to finish his last semester at BYU.  He graduated that December, and we quickly packed up again and headed to Dallas, TX.  Now to keep track we had moved 3 times already and we hadn't even been married a year yet!  That is a lot of moving!  So, in January 2010 Eco Pest Solutions was born!  It has been up and running strong for 2 years now!

During those two years we have since moved 2 more times!  Bringing our grand total to 5 moves in about 2 1/2 years!  Pretty much we are sick of moving, but I am sure we have much more in our future!  At least at this rate!  So, upon moving to Texas and starting Eco Pest, we decided that it would be a good time to start a family as well!  You know since we didn't have to much going on already why not add a kid into the mix right?!  Hahaha!!!  Well, we soon found out that we could not have children and our best bet would be to try In Vitro Fertilization, or just go the adoption route.  Of course this caught us off guard, and we were very sad but with everything else going on in our lives we didn't really worry about it.  We just thought well we are still really young and have a lot going on right now so we would worry about this issue later.  Much to our surprise last March we found out that we were pregnant.  Now this had been almost 1 1/2 years of "trying" to get pregnant, and all doctors saying it was not going to happen for us, so as you can imagine we were shocked!  At first I couldn't really believe it, (therefore taking 3 pregnancy tests) and then soon realized this baby was not going anywhere, so my biggest fear was about to come true!  I was about to become large!  Hahaha!!!  Of course Kev was so excited!  This was something he had been wanting for awhile now!  Don't get me wrong I was SOOO excited as well, but I was also very nervous!  I mean come on I was the one that had to carry the baby for 9 months and give birth!  The pregnancy went really well, except for the first 4 months where I was extremely sick.  I would throw up all the time, and most days just feel so sick I couldn't even get out of bed.  It was miserable!  I actually lost weight the first several months!  All in all though the pregnancy went really smooth, with no major complications!  And I only gained 22 lbs, and I was back down to my pre-pregnancy weight about 4 weeks after the baby was born!  So, my biggest fear about becoming super large was adverted...lol!  So, on November 9, 2011 Rylee Marie Shirley entered the world!  More on the delivery to come....mainly bc that is a whole story in and of it self!
Finding out we were pregnant!

Kev was kind enough to document how sick I was lol

Aside from all the major events the past few years that I have already mentioned, we did happen to fit in a little bit of fun!  Kev surprised me with a little trip to vegas, where we saw "O" Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio.  It was awesome and the best show I have seen in Vegas!  It is a must see if ever going to Vegas. We also went on two week end trips down to San Antonio.  The first we stayed on the Riverwalk, and went to Sea World!  The second time was this past December, when we went down for a wedding.  We stayed at the JW Marriott on this trip and had little miss Rylee with us.  The JW Marriott is awesome, and even had a heated water park!  Also this past May I went to Utah for Elizabeth's wedding, who was one of my bridesmaids.  Upon arriving home Kev had a surprise for me.....a cute new 7 week old puppy!  We named him Max and he has been a great little addition to the family!  In June Kev and I went to LA for Mark Pierson's wedding! It was a lot of fun hanging out with all our friends, and star watching in downtown LA at the Cars 2 premier!  In August I went to Cincinnati for Lizzy's wedding who was my Maid of Honor at my wedding!  While in Cincinnati my mom threw me a baby shower!  It was so nice and she did such a good job!  She loves her little girl and her new little grand baby!  Also last but not least we had some time to attend some MAVS games!  We even went to a play off game last season!  We are very proud MAVS fans considering the MAVS dominated in the play offs and therefore became the 2011 National Champions!  Now with the MAVS winning, our baby being born, and the many weddings we attended, I would say 2011 was a busy but amazing year!
